BANKRUPTCY PETITION PREPARATION

A Bankruptcy Petition Preparer (BPP) is a person other than an attorney who assist consumers who want to file a Chapter 7 Bankruptcy Petition Pro Se and charges a fee to prepare these documents. The client provides all income, assets and debt information the bankruptcy petition preparer generates, completes and delivers to the client a bankruptcy petition and schedules to be filed by their client in the jurisdiction in which they reside. The Petition Preparer cannot collect a filing fee nor can they file a petition for the client.  Many consumers use the services of a petition preparer to avoid the high cost associated with using an attorney. Others lack the desire or understanding necessary to complete the petition on their own during this stressful process; consequently,
